Woodlander Coppice

Volunteering in woodland management and Community Gardens

Helping to manage and return un-managed coppice woodland back into rotation, coppicing, crafts, and volunteering in a new community garden project.

What should participants expect?

Learning about how our woodlands are managed, coppicing, woodland surveys throughout the seasons, butterfly conservation, deer management, woodland maintenance,
maintaining and looking after the community garden, planting, maintenance, and growing fruit and vegetables.

Where does the activity take place?

Long mead Cope and Fawcetts Field New Milton

The Community Garden is still a work in progress until the end of the year – A coppice woodlands with standards, not seen active management for 20 odd years, woodland rides and glades and an abundance of wildlife

When does it take place?

As and when required in the woodlands throughout the year. The community garden is not up and running yet

Who can participate?

It is for all who have an interest in coppicing woodlands and for anyone with an interest in gardening and creating something special for the community

Other Useful Information

The woodlands has no wheelchair access due to the terrain - need to be fairly physically fit, outdoor clothing and stout boots or wellies. All PPE provided and tools Parking is limited.
