New Forest Transition
What should participants expect?
Various volunteering opportunities including:
- Volunteer Repairers for Repair Cafes over the New Forest – electrical, sewing, jewellery, basic wood repairs etc.
- Volunteer Allotment help – digging, planting, sowing Pennington Allotment
- Volunteers to train up and help thermal image survey people’s homes – all over the NF
- Volunteers to marshall family bike events in Lymington
Where does the activity take place?
Repair Cafes – various locations across the New Forest – Fordingbridge, Brockenhurst, Blackfield, Totton, Lymington
Allotment Help – Pennington, can be wet, and the paths are bad.
Thermal Imaging – across the New Forest. Involves imaging residents’ homes, ideally in pairs.
Bike Events – Lymington, on the roads – with hi-vis.
When does it take place?
Repair Cafes – monthly
Allotment help – weekly
Thermal imaging – winter
Bike events – Spring and Summer
Who can participate?
Repairers – Adults with a skill to share
Allotment – Adults who can work as part of a group
Thermal Imaging – Adults who can use technology and communicate with residents
Bike Events – Adults who are keen to help and promote family cycling
